Clinker Cottage, Blakeney

The Client came to me having purchased this cottage in a poor state, the building suffered from damp issues and was covered in a concrete render. The property was in desperate need of renovation. The client had purchased the property with the view to turn it into a holiday let.

I reconfigured the layout to achieve three double bedrooms with ensuites. I extended the rear of the property to create a new rear porch with an ensuite above. The Old Kitchen was turned into a Utility and downstairs WC and the Dining room became the new Kitchen.

The property was extensively renovated by Norfolk Property Restoration builders.

The restoration included removing all render and carefully repairing the flint work, rebuilding chimneys, reroofing the property and completely rebuilding the rear wall in flintwork. The outbuilding was converted into an outdoor eating area. The inertia was treated for damp and opened up to create a modern living area. The original front door was also reinstated onto the High street. The ceilings on the first floor were vaulted and all windows and doors were replaced.

The Internal finish to the property has been done to a very high standard. The client has saved this property and made it into a beautiful destination for holiday makers to enjoy on the Norfolk Coast.
