Jimmy’s Barn

I was approached by a farming family based on the North Norfolk Coast. James is the client’s son and also works on the farm. Having looked at buying close to the farm, property prices were high in the area the family looked at alternative routes to help James move into his own house.

There was a large barn that was located close to the family house and was no longer large enough to accommodate modern machinery. I worked with the family to produce  layouts of the barn, the key requirements for which were to get more light into the barn and to ensure James had his own privacy. I successfully obtained planning for the family, who then commissioned their own builders, and ran the project onsite themselves.
